Metro Nashville Public Schools Director of Schools Shawn Joseph will present his 2018 State of the Schools Address on March 28 at 10:30 a.m. He'll reflect on district accomplishments and provide updates to MNPS staff and community partners on budget priorities including: support of literacy efforts, college readiness, social emotional learning, equity and diversity, school-based budgeting and employee compensation. Student participants will come from Norman Binkley Elementary School, Oliver Middle School, Nashville School of the Arts, and Overton High School. All MNPS staff are invited to attend along with community partners, the Board of Education, the Mayor’s Office and Metro Council Members.

Join us for an evening of true stories from Memphis educators and students. Chalkbeat Tennessee is hosting a storytelling event under the theme "Natural Consequences" alongside Spillit.
We'll explore how natural and unnatural, just and unjust consequences to actions impact our lives and experiences. Storytellers will deliver personal stories, and many of them will touch on how, in diverse ways, school discipline has impacted their lives.
